Children ages 1-5 and their families are invited for a virtual story time, followed by a hands-on early childhood art project. This month’s featured book is Shante Keys and the New Year's Peas by Gail Piernas-Davenport and Marion Eldridge. We will be making our own shakers using dried peas, a cardboard roll, tissue paper, and tape and to help you shake into the new year! To paint along, you will need to following art supplies: one cardboard roll (toilet paper or paper towel roll will work), dry beans or rice, tissue paper of many colors, tape or a stapler, glue stick, safety scissors, paper towels, baby wipes, water, and space where you can get a little messy.
