MOCA Makers - Light and Language

Join us for a hands-on Light and Language workshop, led by artist Dimitry Saïd Chamy. In this family- friendly project, we collaborate to construct a digital alphabet using light boxes and mixed materials. The letters we create will be used to project poems composed by participants from our Summer Poetry and Art Series, merging visual art and literature for an illuminating experience. Dimitry Saïd Chamy is a transdisciplinary artist, designer, and cultural producer. He works with hybrid generative systems using collaboration, creativity, and play to evoke what is lost, examine the present, and explore the possible—grounded in his diasporic journey as a queer Haitian-Lebanese immigrant and his love of nature, science, and storytelling.
