Enrollment Procedures for Summer Camp
- Complete registration below. Forms are also available at MOCA front desk.
- Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited and camp does sell out.
- Pre-pay for summer camp and Extended Care to confirm registration.
- The registration form must be signed by parent/guardian and turned in to MOCA’s front desk staff or during Parent Orientation on May 11th, 2019.
- Summer Camp is designed for children ages 6 and older; children ages 5 and under will not be admitted.
- Refund policy: parents must cancel in writing. No refunds will be issued after June 7, 2019.
Limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students with proof of enrollment in Miami-Dade County Public Schools Free and Reduced Meals Program. To register for a scholarship, please download and complete the application form and email to [email protected] or bring it to the front desk at MOCA to the attention of Agatha Wright, Education Programs Coordinator.
MOCA Summer Camp Daily Schedules
Camp hours are from 9:00am to 3:30pm. Pre-care drop off begins no earlier than 8:00 am, camp drop off begins no earlier than 8:45 am, and pick-up is from 3:30pm-4:00pm.
Any camper still in our care after 4:00 pm who is not pre-registered for extended care will go into extended care for an additional charge of $20 per day, per child. Extended care is from 3:30pm-5:30PM.
Summer Arts Camp
8:00AM-8:30AM – Pre Care Drop Off at the Pavilion Gallery. Every camper must be signed in by an adult.
8:45AM- 9:00AM – Camp Drop Off at the Pavilion Gallery. Every camper must be signed in by an adult.
9:00AM-9:45AM – Teacher introduces the project with slides and a demonstration.
9:45AM-10:15AM – Morning snack in classroom
10:15AM- 11:15AM – Art Studio Block 1
11:15AM-11:30AM – Wash hands/ Bathroom Break
11:30AM-12:30PM – lunch and play break. Jump ropes, Frisbees, board games etc. will be available for kids to use while they are enjoying the outdoors in our Paradise Courtyard.
12:30PM-12:45PM – Bathroom Break
12:45PM-1:15PM – Discussion of artist’s process, and slide show of art to inspire projects.
1:15PM-3:00PM – Art Studio Block 2
3:00PM-3:30PM – Class Critique, clean up and socializing, games.
3:30PM-4:00PM –Pick Up at the Pavilion Gallery. All campers must be signed out by a guardian on the approved pick-up list.
4:00PM-5:30PM – Aftercare begins. Parents and/or guardians must pick up by 5:30PM.
Dynamic Design Camp

Extended Care runs from 8:00-8:30 AM and 3:30-5:30 PM.
Every day from 3:30 -5:30PM will be quiet play time or free draw time for all campers as they wait to be picked up. We have games and books for children to play together, but feel free to pack your child’s favorite book. If energy levels seem high, we will take the campers outside to the enclosed play area for outdoor games. Extended Care should be paid at the time of drop-off if it hasn’t already been pre-paid. All adults picking up campers in Extended Care are required to show a photo ID and must be on the approved pick-up list for that child.
Any campers that have not been picked up by 3:30pm and have not pre-paid for Extended Care will be admitted into Extended Care and guardians will be charged a $20 per day per child fee at time of pick up.
If your child is going to attend Extended Care they must be picked up by 5:30PM. A late fee of $40 will be assessed for campers not picked up by 5:30PM and will continue to be charged $10 for every 5 minutes the child has not been picked up.
MOCA Arts Camp: Campers will have a morning snack at 10:15AM, and lunch at 11:30AM.
Dynamic Design: Campers will have a morning snack at 10:25AM, and lunch at 12:30AM
All food must be provided by home and should not require refrigeration or to be heated up.
No peanuts or peanut products please
We have water fountains in the wing, but a re-usable water bottle is preferred.
WHAT TO BRING:
A positive attitude and be ready to have fun!
Campers should dress for a mess!
An extra t-shirt recommended.
Campers will be spending sometime outside, if you would like them to wear sunscreen or bug spray you must administer it at home in the morning. The MOCA Museum Staff cannot be made responsible for administering sunscreen or bug spray.
Campers must have the following Dress code:
- Closed toed shoes, crocs are not permitted unless they are worn with the back sandal strap on.
- Campers should wear comfortable clothing including shorts or pants.
Campers should bring a healthy lunch as well as ONE snack. ALL BACKPACKS AND LUNCH BOXES MUST HAVE THE CHILD’S NAME ON THEM.
Campers should not bring toys or electronics. If campers do bring toys or electronics, MOCA is not to be held liable for their damage or loss.
If you wish to send your camper with a cell phone, please inform them that they are not allowed to use it during camp. If any toys or electronics become a distraction, camp staff will keep the toys or electronics until the end of the day.
