The power dynamics implicit in the installation Man’s Best Friend and The longer I slip into a crack the shorter my nose becomes is made explicit when the elaborate dresses are taken off their mannequins to become costumes in the performance, The Way and the Body. In the performance, an ensemble of dancers enact a sequence of relationships through subtle and dramatic gestures. The Way and the Body was originally performed in 2017 at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia.
