In his solo performances, de Nieves often engages in the act of channeling and spirit possession through the sublimation of his ego. The stream of consciousness monologue delivered in the performance is a meditation on good and evil. De Nieves asks questions about one’s responsibility to the self in moments when the the body is taken over by desire or a spirit
