Teen Art Force Virtual Showcase

The MOCA Virtual Teen Art Force Showcase is an exhibition of student work from a year-long free virtual program at MOCA for Miami Dade students ages 13-17. The students learn new techniques and skills in a variety of media in five different courses, Fashion and Textile Design, Drawing and Portfolio Development, Mixed Media and Sculpture, Printmaking, and Art Journalism and Photography. The Teen Art Force program created an educational and nurturing environment with the help from local multidisciplinary practicing artists. The students learn about the artist’s journey and practice, work from a curriculum designed by the teaching artists, as well as learn strategies and processes for approaching visual problems and conceptual thinking.

Works by more than 20 students are on view including digital, film, photography and drawings in various media.

This exhibition was curated by MOCA Studio Interns Vinicius Deoliveira and Emma Vargas.

MOCA’s Teen Art Force program is made possible with the continued support of the North Miami Mayor and Council and the City of North Miami, the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, and is funded in part by The Kirk Foundation and Leica Miami.
