Message to the Community

MOCA Logo

Black Lives Matter. Black voices matter. Black culture matters.

Our hearts are with George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others who have suffered because of systemic racism, injustice, and violence. Now, more than ever, we stand in solidarity with our communities and those who are working to make a more just future.

Since its inception, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami has been dedicated to making contemporary art accessible to diverse audiences – especially underserved populations – through the collection, preservation and exhibition of the best of contemporary art and its art historical influences.

As MOCA enters its third decade, the institution reaffirms its commitment to presenting exhibitions and programs that resonate with the residents of our city and the broader audience of South Florida, home to multicultural and multilingual communities and a dedicated artistic network. MOCA remains committed to amplifying Black voices within our diverse community and presenting programs that offer a space for reflection.

We believe that we are made better by the diversity that exists within our community, and commit ourselves to ensuring that it is reflected in our staff, leadership and Board of Trustees.
