SYNERGISM: THE COLLAGE OF OUR MEMORIES

Artist-led hands on workshop based on the current exhibition.

Participants should bring two to three everyday objects (wood, leather, rubber, ceramics, metal, no fabrics) with a personal connection to their lives and hometown. Objects will be combined to create a community collage/art piece reflective of Ekaterina and Victor Khromin’s aesthetics. Participants will share personal histories and discuss contemporary art aesthetics. Open to teens ages 13 to17, and adults.

Admission: $10 per person; $5 to MOCA members and North Miami residents. Materials fee included in admission.

MASTERPIECES OF RUSSIAN ANIMATION
Saturday, April 15, 2017 | 2:00–4:00 pm

Based on traditional Russian fairy tales, children stories, and folk tales, the Soviet Union produced a stunning array of animated films which have been recognized as classic masterpieces of animation. This family friendly afternoon will feature storytelling and animation by masters such as Yuriy Norshteyn, Ivan Ivanov-Vano, Lev Atavanov, Boris Dehzhkin, and others. Films will be dubbed in English and/or subtitled.

Admission: free with museum admission.

Family-friendly safety activities and hands-on coloring experience based on Ekaterina Khromin’s work as a children’s book illustrator. This program is offered with the cooperation of Lauren’s Kids and the Miami-Dade Police Department. Open to children ages 5-8, and adults.

MOCA SHAKERS

ARTIST VIP TOUR

Become a MOCA Shaker and join us for VECHERINKA an exciting evening mixer featuring a vodka tasting, Russian delicacies and music, and a conversational tour with exhibition artist Ekaterina Khromin.

MOCA CONTEMPORARY DIALOGUES

ARTIST-LED EXHIBITION GROUP TOURS

Exhibition artist Ekaterina Khromin will lead interactive group tours/dialogues in both English and Russian focusing on works in the galleries, synergism as an art movement, and Russian contemporary cultural history. Interactive tours are by appointment only and must be requested no less than two weeks in advance.
