German artist Jonathan Meese is known for his expressionistic style of painting, exuberant performances, complex installations and powerful sculptures.  Although all of Meese’s work flows from a philosophical position he has defined for his artistic pursuit, sculpture is the way he gives permanence to his ideas. These figures essentially are frozen surrogates for Meese and the various guises he assumes as well as the forces of good and evil that he channels when he performs.  This book was published for the exhibition Jonathan Meese: Sculpture at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami.
