Creative Arts 4 Kids

Ages 6-12

9 AM – 3:30 PM. Monday-Friday with aftercare to 5:30.

Students will experiment with a variety of art and design techniques in a creative environment. Taught by gifted art professionals, all projects will be inspired by great works of art, dating  from antiquity to the present day. 


Let’s Get Messy! June 8 – 19, 2015

Children will master painting and print-making techniques as they  study the work of Chinese brush painters, Japanese print-makers, African fabric designers, and American Pop Artists, like Andy Warhol.

Let’s Figure It Out. June 22 -July 3, 2015

Inspired by great artists from world history, students will learn how to draw, paint and make sculptures that represent the human face and body.

My Fantastic Adventures. July 6 – 17, 2015

Children will write their own adventure stories and illustrate them, as they study images of mythical gods, famous fairy tales, American  super-hero comics and Japanese manga.

It’s Alive!! July 20 – 31, 2015

Kids will draw, paint, and mold clay as they re-create microscopic creatures , dinosaurs, and the exotic animals of the natural world.

It Came from Outer Space! August 3 – 14, 2015

Children will draw, paint, and construct robots and space ships, as they study science fiction classics, the NASA space program   and  discoveries in astronomy.

Dynamic Design

Ages 11-13

9 AM – 3:30 PM. Monday-Friday with aftercare to 5:30.
Students will learn about the exciting world of design as they plan and execute their own original creations. They will study the work of world-class designers and meet with professionals in the field. There will also be field trips to design studios and a group exhibit of student work that will be a “pop up shop” in the museum.



Introduction to Design June 8 – 19, 2015

From first draft  to the prototype, build your skills in drafting, computer modeling, and model-making as you explore the history of design.

Build It June 22 – July 3, 2015

Explore architecture, interior design, and furniture design: Learn construction techniques  and work with  alternative materials.

Create your own Fashion Brand July 6 – 17, 2015

Design clothing, shoes, accessories, logos and develop an  advertising concept.

Cool Product Design July 20 – 31, 2015

Design sports equipment, cars, games, and toys. 

Designing for  the Media, Festivals,and the Stage August 3-14, 2015

Design sets, costumes, movie posters, special effects make-up, backdrops, web-pages.
