The MOCA Art Institute offers an array of comprehensive educational programs in art and communications that promote a well-rounded understanding of art and the world. Building on over 15 years of experience, MOCA's innovative programs use engaging curriculum and a dynamic museum environment to build skills, develop aesthetic analysis and promote creativity through exposure, experience and interdisciplinary discussion. Over 20,000 children, teens and adults benefit annually from MOCA's education programs. The personal guidance and mentoring from professional staff and visiting artists inspires participants to become life-long learners and lovers of art.

In classes and programs throughout the school year and summer, children learn
about the elements of art and are introduced to artists and world culture through
hands-on art projects and interdisciplinary activities. Tours of the galleries encourage
both verbal and visual expression. All classes are taught by professional
educators. Scholarships are available through the Irma Braman Scholarship Fund.

Free after-school, weekend and summer programs in art history, studio art, photography, design, and writing allow middle and high school students to develop new skills and prepare for College / Magnet school admissions.
Figure Drawing for Adults allows artists to practice drawing the human form.MOCA’s education programs for adults welcome students of all skill levels seeking to develop their creativity and a deeper understanding of the art of our time. Seminars, lectures, workshops, studio classes and artist talks provide highly motivated adult students with an array of quality programs. MOCA’s curatorial and education staff provide personal guidance and expertise to adult students to help them establish a path of inquiry and practice in order to achieve their goals of professional, artistic and intellectual development.
