FREE  After-School Classes for students ages 13 to 18.

Classes run from October 1o, 2o16 – May 26, 2o17 and are everyday from 3:30pm – 5:30pm.

From studio classes to social events, MOCA offers an exciting roster of programs that engage young people ages 13 -18 in the vibrant world of contemporary art.

All programs are free and require the completion of the registration form:

FASHION DESIGN: 

  • Fashion design and problem-solving
  • Fashion industry
  • It’s vocabulary skills techniques.

 

tuesdays

JUNIOR DOCENTS: 

  • Careers in the arts
  • Public speaking
  • Tour leader training
  • Curatorial training through discussions and interviews
  • Participants contribute to Mocazine

 

wednesdays

MIXED MEDIA PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT: 

  • Drawing and observational skills
  • Painting skills and techniques
  • Portfolio development

PHOTOGRAPHY: 

  • Contemporary photography and professional practices
  • Technical proficiency in studio lighting, editing, and composition
  • Portfolio development

MANGA AND GRAPHIC NOVELS: 

Classes incorporate drawing and writing techniques.

CONTEMPORARY ART AND DANCE:

Interdisciplinary course based on contemporary artists who incorporate dance in their work.

 

fridays

CONTEMPORARY ART MOVEMENT / GIRLS EMPOWERMENT:

Interdisciplinary course based on current exhibitions and the use of movement to address issues of self-esteem body image identity and gender.

CONTEMPORARY ART AND PERFORMANCE:

Interdisciplinary course will use improvisational and theater techniques to examine tolerance gender diversity and conflict resolution as reflected in current exhibitions.
